Where are the best places to take a pole dancing class in Minneapolis? I’m guessing since you’re here you’re interested in pole dancing, just like I am. I have scoured the interwebs and found the best Minneapolis pole dancing class out there for us to take. Let’s be honest, the longterm benefits of pole dancing is just as much for the participant as it is for the viewer. The workout alone is what I’m interested in, that other stuff is just a bonus.
Pole dancing is a form of dance and exercise that involves using a vertical pole to perform acrobatic moves and tricks. It can be a fun and enjoyable activity for many people for a variety of reasons:
Remember that it’s important to find a reputable instructor or studio and to listen to your body and take breaks when needed. Pole dancing can be physically demanding, so it’s important to start slowly and work your way up to more advanced moves.
Phoenix Flight Studio – Located in Northeast Minneapolis, minutes from downtown, Phoenix Flight Studio is extremely welcoming to participants of all ages and varying abilities, as well as comfort levels. Some are more comfortable with their bodies than others and Phoenix Flight recognizes that which is something I appreciate in a pole dancing class. Phoenix Flight Studio is also one of the longest running pole studios in the Twin Cities so they know what they’re doing.
DOLLHOUSE Pole Dance – Also located in Northest Minneapolis, in the Arts District, DOLLHOUSE prides itself on celebrating the classic, sexy roots of pole dancing. Whether your goal is to learn how to pole dance as a way to build confidence or if you want to end up on the stage, DOLLHOUSE has the program to get you there. With an easy quickstart guide on their website, users can choose their own path and then plan their class course based on that. Everyone is encouraged to take their Intro to Pole, a 60-minute, 4-week class; but they also have options for those who want to just drop-in to learn a skill or two. DOLLHOUSE even has a stage and scheduled shows for class participants who want to show off their newly learned skills.
Villainy Alternative Dance and Pole Studio -Villainy is located in the Powderhorn neighborhood in Minneapolis where you can find free parking as well as street parking. The studio has a very friendly vibe and encourages “new recruits” to embrace their inner baddie and unleash their wild side. It’s fun and you can tell the studio does not take themselves too seriously which is something I connect with in my line of profession. Don’t let that fool you though with the level of professionals you’ll find instructing the classes. Each instructor is a bonafide artist and performer in his or her own right and their creditials are impressive.
Not only is pole dancing a great way to build core strength and some really amazing arm strength but it’s a great cardiovascular workout. Plus, it’s fun and when you’re doing cardio the last thing you need is to be bored. Pole dancing is anything but boring.
No, absolutely not too old to start pole dancing. I wouldn’t recommend going out on your own, purchasing a pole and setting up shop in your own home to learn by yourself. All of the pole dancing studios I mentioned above have very qualified instructors to teach anyone how to begin pole dancing.
You’ll want to wear shorts so that your skin can help you grip the pole. Wear a shirt that you would wear to workout in because you will be working hard. Most importantly wear something you feel the most comfortable and confident in!
Shoot me a message if you are ready to step out of your comfort zone and start to feel confidence with a boudoir shoot as well. Pole dancing can be such a great workout and confidence booster something boudoir also has in common!
