IMPLIED NUDE FOR YOUR BOUDOIR?

One of the most exciting, yet tasteful, styles I love to shoot is the implied nude look. If you’ve never heard of it before or if you’re on the fence about trying it, don’t worry! I’m here to walk you through exactly what it is and why it’s such a beautiful and empowering option for your boudoir shoot.

What Exactly Are Implied Nude Photos?

So, what does “implied nude” even mean? It’s super simple! Implied nude photos create the illusion of nudity without actually showing anything. There are no nipples, no “down-south” areas on display, yet it’s clear that you’re not wearing clothes. It’s like a little game of peek-a-boo with a touch of mystery! You’re covered, but barely, and that little tease makes these photos feel ultra sexy while still remaining classy and tasteful.

In most of my implied nude shoots, we use a white sheet, and many of my clients opt to go fully nude underneath. But don’t worry—nothing is revealed! You’re still strategically covered, and the sheet adds just the right amount of mystery. Plus, if you want to go fully nude, we usually save the sheet set for last, so by then, we’re both totally comfortable, jamming to music, and just having fun. There’s usually lots of laughter involved!

Why Implied Nudes?

Here’s the thing: implied nude photos are all about creating a sexy, confident vibe without actually showing too much. It’s a powerful and empowering way to explore your sensuality in a controlled, artistic way. You’re in charge of how much you want to show, and it’s such a gorgeous way to capture your beauty.

Most of my clients who choose the white sheet add-on love the implied nude shots because they feel playful, alluring, and incredibly elegant. You’re literally wrapped up in nothing but a sheet, creating stunning lines and curves that enhance your natural beauty.

Mastering the Pose

I like to consider myself a master sheet poser and arranger—yep, it’s a skill! We start with something easy and comfortable, like lying in bed with your legs up against the wall. This pose is always a winner because it gives amazing angles of your body, plus it’s the perfect time to get those gorgeous shots of you looking directly at the camera (or even gazing off into the distance). And trust me when I say this: the sheet actually covers more than lingerie would, so if you’re a little nervous about how much skin will be showing, the sheet adds a nice layer of comfort.

After that, we’ll get a little playful by rolling around in different poses. Maybe the sheet is just covering your chest while it drapes down your body, or we turn you to the side where your legs naturally cover everything that needs to stay hidden. The fun part is knowing that you’re not wearing a stitch of clothing, but we’re using strategic posing to create stunning, sexy shots that are both subtle and powerful.

Sexy Shots from Every Angle

One of my favorite things to do is shoot from behind. We can have you roll to the side of the bed, feet on the floor, and maybe wrap the sheet around you—or not, depending on how comfortable you’re feeling. I love to have clients raise their hands to their hair for a classic, sensual pose that lengthens the back and looks incredible in photos. Plus, a little side boob never hurt anyone, right? It adds just the right touch of spice without being too revealing.

Then we’ll move to some standing poses. We’ll drape the sheet down your front, and maybe we get a shot of your full booty from behind or wrap the sheet so it covers just the essentials in the front. This is a super tasteful way to capture implied nude photos, and every single client who tries this pose loves how it turns out!

Covering Up with Your Hands, Arms, and Legs

If you want to keep things even more minimal, we can ditch the sheet altogether and use your hands, arms, and legs to cover everything. One of my all-time favorite poses is something I call the “pretzel pose.” This is where you’re seated on the ground, and we position your body in such a way that everything is covered—using nothing but your limbs. It’s artistic, fun, and shows off your flexibility (don’t worry, no actual pretzels involved!).
